Overview

Duties

  • Lead the development and execution of innovative menus that delight guests and reflect current culinary trends, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and service, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs without compromising quality.
  • Oversee food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations through regular training and inspections.
  • Coordinate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and allergies, ensuring all dishes meet nutritional standards.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment that encourages professional growth and teamwork.
  • Oversee catering events, banquets, and large-scale food production with meticulous attention to detail and timing.
  • Manage shift schedules, assign responsibilities, and monitor performance to ensure smooth operations during all service periods.
  • Collaborate with restaurant management on menu planning, pricing strategies, and service improvements to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Implement best practices in food handling, storage, sanitation, and cleanliness to uphold the highest standards of hygiene.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in kitchen processes, staff training programs, and customer service excellence.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef within a fine dining or upscale hospitality environment.
  • Extensive background in food production, culinary arts, and restaurant management with a strong emphasis on quality control.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience managing diverse culinary teams in high-volume settings such as banquets or catering events.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, food safety regulations (including HACCP), and cost control measures.
  • Experience in menu planning that balances creativity with operational feasibility while catering to various dietary requirements.
  • Skilled in kitchen management tasks such as shift scheduling, inventory control, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team development, motivation, and conflict resolution.
  • Familiarity with food service management software is preferred; bartending experience is a plus for beverage pairing initiatives.
