Primary Purpose:
Ensure efficient operation of the Medicaid/SHARS program by coordinating required and timely training, documentation, and submission of data while identifying weaknesses and developing strategies for improvement & maximization of financial reimbursable returns for the district. In addition, coordinate and monitor the provision of Homebound Services for both eligible students.
Qualifications:
Educational/Certification:
Master’s degree in Special Education or Education Leadership
Valid Texas teaching certificate with special education endorsement
Texas Mid-management or other appropriate Texas certificate preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Federal and State compliance knowledge; develop a good understanding of the organization, its policies and procedures
Demonstrate capacity to exercise sound judgment
Proficient typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills
Effective organization and problem-solving skill
Ability to design and coordinate workflow
Ability to establish good communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to use computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, google forms, pivot tables
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality
Exhibit versatility, flexibility, enthusiasm, be self-motivated, both independently and as a team member
Experience:
Three years teaching Special Education
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide record and compliance support for the SHARS program
- Compile, maintain and file all reports, records, and other documents as required
- Supervise and coordinate documentation in the XLOGs system
- Serve a primary contact to SHARS vendor
- Collect data for MSB for billing cycles yearly, ongoing update the participant list, monitor RMTS completion, and submit all required documentation necessary to maximize financial returns and requested by TEA, HHSC, and MSB
- Work with other district departments to ensure timely submission of data
- Ensure that the certification of all reports in the Fairbanks/STAIRS System is timely
- Keep up to date with rules and policy changes related to the SHARS program and advise the necessary district staff of changes to the program
- Compare records in ESPED to services documented in XLOGS to ensure they are reimbursable
- Ensure Medicaid Consent is on file for students receiving reimbursable personal care services
- Create and maintain computerized files of required credentials for staff (NPI & TPI numbers)
- Provided copies of records as requested
- Keep administrative records and prepare required reports
- Supervision and coordinate the district’s homebound program
- Review and monitor the progress of students receiving homebound services
- Source the required instructional staff to provide homebound services
- Coordinate 504 and ARD meetings for students receiving homebound services
- Ensure coordination of services with campus level staff for students receiving homebound services
- Coordinate and source required homebound documentation from medical providers
- Ensure all prescriptions for OT and PT services, enter into the required systems and provide copy to appropriate staff members.
