Wiawaka Center for Women, a historic non-profit retreat on beautiful Lake George, is seeking a talented and organized Chef to lead our kitchen team for the 2026 summer season. The Chef plays a key role in creating a warm, welcoming dining experience for our guests while managing daily food service operations.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and oversee all meals (typically buffet-style for breakfast and dinner).
- Create menus that are nutritious, seasonal, and cost-effective.
- Manage and train kitchen staff, ensuring food safety and cleanliness standards are met.
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and budget control for kitchen supplies and ingredients.
- Accommodate dietary needs and special requests when possible.
- Work collaboratively with management to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a chef, head cook, or kitchen manager.
- Strong leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Must be available for the full summer season (June–August).
