The Chief Development Officer is responsible for driving the organization's growth strategy through strategic partnerships, new revenue streams, market expansion, mergers and acquisitions, and innovative business opportunities.

Essential Duties
Strategic Growth & Business Development
- Develop and execute the company's enterprise-wide growth strategy.
- Identify new revenue opportunities, business models, and market expansion initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging retail trends, consumer behaviors, and competitive threats.
- Lead strategic planning efforts focused on long-term growth and profitability.
- Present growth opportunities and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
Partnerships & Strategic Alliances
- Build and maintain relationships with key partners, vendors, licensors, landlords, airports, transportation hubs, and other strategic stakeholders.
- Negotiate high-value partnerships, joint ventures, and commercial agreements.
- Identify opportunities to expand brand presence through new channels and partnerships.
- Lead contract negotiations and partnership performance reviews.
Market Expansion
- Assess and execute domestic and international expansion opportunities.
- Develop market-entry strategies for new geographic regions.
- Evaluate potential acquisitions, franchise opportunities, and strategic investments.
- Partner with Real Estate and Operations teams to identify new retail locations and formats.
Mergers & Acquisitions
- Identify acquisition targets that align with corporate growth objectives.
- Lead due diligence, valuation, and integration planning efforts.
- Collaborate with Finance and Legal teams throughout transaction processes.
- Monitor acquisition performance and synergy realization.
Revenue Optimization
- Partner with Merchandising, Marketing, and Operations teams to increase revenue and customer acquisition.
- Evaluate new product categories, services, and omnichannel opportunities.
- Develop business cases for investment opportunities and capital allocation decisions.
- Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure growth initiatives.
Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing business development team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Mentor senior leaders and provide strategic guidance across the organization.
- Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- 10 years of progressive leadership experience in retail, consumer products, hospitality, travel retail, or a related industry.
- 5 years of executive-level experience in business development, corporate strategy, corporate development, or growth-focused leadership roles.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth, market expansion, and strategic partnerships.
- Experience leading complex negotiations and managing high-value commercial agreements.
- Strong financial acumen, including business case development, forecasting, budgeting, and ROI analysis.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
