Seeking Farm Help: Part Time Positions Available.
Independence/Coffeyville Area
Herd Hand Position: feeding and watering, putting out hay, refilling mineral feeders, maintaining holding area. Pay is $14-16, mornings 8am-noon, flexible number of days weekly. Must be prompt, consistent, honest; most important skill is after getting used to daily duties being able to notice when something is different (a broken feeder, latch that won't close at feed pen entry, animal laying down instead of eating, etc). This position can work into full time for the right person, bonuses included for full time.
Handler Position: Want to learn about goats? This position is for someone who wants to learn about registered boer and registered Nubian. A Handler will assist with handling goats, walking show goats, feeding of bottle kids. Pay is $13-15 hourly. Most important skill to this position is being able to be gentle with babies/young goats. This position is very specific and very flexible on amount of hours/number of days. Must be able to self start after learning position. Hours can be worked around other commitments.
Ranch Hand Position: loading/unloading sacked feed, mucking runs, cleaning barns, laying gravel, helping with fence repair, building repair, etc. Pay is $16-20 higher end of scale for hard worker who gets things done quickly and completely, 1 day a week, perfect weekend side hustle for a strong back.
