Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of baked goods, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, dough sheeters, and pastry tools safely and efficiently
- Decorate cakes and pastries with precision using various cake decorating techniques
- Package baked items attractively for retail display or catering orders
- Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with food preparation tasks including dough preparation, pastry assembly, and ingredient measurement using basic math skills
- Support food industry standards by handling ingredients properly and following food safety management protocols
Requirements
- Proven experience in baking or pastry preparation within a high-volume production environment
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in dough preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food handling safety practices and food safety management systems
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail for recipe adherence and cake decorating precision
- Good organizational skills to maintain a clean workspace and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Customer service orientation with the ability to work well within a team environment
- Previous catering experience or culinary background is preferred but not required
- Basic math skills for ingredient measurement and portion control
