Responsibilities Include
- Oversee detailed studies, modeling and design of wastewater collection, water distribution and stormwater management systems and facilities
- Oversee and prepare evaluation reports for water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Prepare engineering plans, plan specifications and other contract documents for the design of water/wastewater systems
- Manage multi-discipline projects involving survey, civil, geotechnical, electrical/ mechanical, and structural teams
- Lead the production of design calculations and technical reports
- Oversee the quality control and budget management of projects
- Research issues related to wastewater that impact individual projects
- Interact with governmental agencies for review and approval of projects
- Effectively communicate with clients to develop strong relationships, review project needs, and secure contracts
- A Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
- 8 – 15 years of experience in water/wastewater systems design
- EI is required or willing to take FE exam within 6 months
- Professional Engineer in Minnesota or ability to obtain Minnesota license within 6 months is preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Wastewater treatment and collection, and water treatment and distribution project management experience
- Collection system field investigation and rehabilitation projects (I/I reduction) experience
- Knowledge of options and challenges in Minnesota and surrounding states regarding nutrient reduction, effluent toxicity, and current drinking water treatment
- Effective technical writing, public speaking, and public meeting skills
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- SewerGems or InfoSWMM modeling
