The Tax Associate is an integral member of the Tax Department, working in collaboration with all members of the Whittier Trust team members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Preparation of accurate and IRS compliant reporting of brokerage and vendor 1099 forms and tax statements
Independently managing internal inquiries regarding statement production
Maintaining internal project management infrastructure including internal files and other systems
Collaborating with Client Advisors to proactively monitor account profiles
Ensuring proper coding of certain transactions within the trust accounting system
Preparation of reports for data analysis using Excel and internal applications
Managing relevant documents and forms related to retirement accounts
Facilitating and processing tax payments through web portals of various tax authorities
Assisting with special projects and additional tasks when necessary
DESIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred
Reliable and meticulous attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise independent judgment
Highly organized with good time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage and prioritize complex projects with occasional conflicting deadlines
Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
High integrity with a diligent work ethic
Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
Excellent computer skills with knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
Familiarity with SharePoint and Power BI a plus
COMPENSATION
Base salary range $55,000 - $75,000 annually
