In this role, you'll be responsible for accurate billing, coding, receivables, and reporting to ensure timely reimbursements and strong revenue cycle management. Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient demographic data and input charges/payments into billing systems
- Prepare and mail billing statements to patients and insurance carriers
- Follow up on denied claims and correct errors as needed
- Handle inquiries from patients and third-party carriers with professionalism
- Enter adjustments, process secondary claims, and track collections activity
- Make collection calls and establish budget accounts for delinquent accounts
- Maintain accurate billing reports and documentation
- Provide coverage for administrative areas as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in medical billing or related office environment
- Experience with automated billing systems and strong knowledge of insurance plans
- Familiarity with ICD-9 and CPT coding, plus medical terminology
- Excellent communication, phone, and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with computers and billing software
