About SALMON Health and Retirement:

For more than 70 years, SALMON Health and Retirement has proudly served Massachusetts families as a family-owned and operated organization committed to exceptional care, meaningful relationships, and a workplace where employees are valued, supported, and empowered to grow.

What Makes SALMON Health and Retirement Unique:

Our Natick campus is home to three exceptional programs that serve individuals and families across generations: Whitney Place Assisted Living and Memory Care, Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing, and the SALMON Center for Early Education. Together, these programs create a one-of-a-kind community where compassion, collaboration, and connection are part of everyday life.

As a Resident Engagement Coordinator, you'll primarily support residents at Whitney Place while collaborating with staff and residents throughout our campus. Through creative programming, meaningful engagement, and memorable experiences, you'll help enrich the lives of our residents every day.

Your Mission:

Are you passionate about creating experiences that bring people together? Do you enjoy planning events, inspiring others, and making a meaningful difference every day?

As a Resident Engagement Coordinator, you'll lead engaging programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, social, spiritual, and creative wellness for our residents. You'll have the opportunity to plan events, coordinate activities, mentor Resident Engagement Assistants and volunteers, and help create a vibrant community where residents feel connected, valued, and engaged. Every day offers a new opportunity to bring joy, encourage participation, and create lasting memories.

What You'll Do:

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging group and one-on-one recreation programs that support residents' physical, cognitive, social, emotional, spiritual, and creative well-being.
  • Develop and coordinate monthly activity calendars while creating meaningful experiences that encourage resident participation and independence.
  • Organize special events, holiday celebrations, themed parties, live entertainment, educational programs, and community outings.
  • Mentor, train, and provide day-to-day guidance to Resident Engagement Assistants and volunteers while supporting departmental quality improvement initiatives.
  • Foster meaningful relationships with residents through individual visits and daily engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Resident Engagement Director and interdisciplinary team to create innovative programming and, when needed, assist in overseeing department operations.

The Fun Part:

No two days are the same! You may find yourself coordinating or leading activities such as:

  • Holiday parties and seasonal celebrations
  • Live music and entertainment
  • Arts and crafts workshops
  • Bingo, trivia, and game tournaments
  • Ice cream socials and cookouts
  • Birthday and anniversary celebrations
  • Intergenerational activities with children from the SALMON Center for Early Education
  • Cultural celebrations and themed events

What You'll Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in recreation, senior living, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a passion for enriching the lives of older adults.
  • Ability to motivate others and build meaningful relationships.
  • A positive, compassionate, and team-oriented attitude.
