- Selects and sizes equipment and assists the consulting engineer in adjusting their design to accommodate the selected equipment. Provides installation recommendations and guidelines.
- Preparation of estimates, cost reports, forecasts, schedules, budgets, and change orders.
- Reviews project designs, plans and specifications.
- Provides detailed product information and pricing to consulting engineers and customers.
- Updates estimates, schedules, reports, and documents based on revisions and changes to the project.
- Assists with preparation of final project reports, designs, estimates, bids, and submittals.
- Conducts a quality check of all documents and reports, verifying accuracy of data, information, and calculations.
- Conducts technical presentations for consulting engineers and customers.
- Goes to customer job sites when needed
- Accompanies and assists salespeople at customer sites and trade shows.
- Occasional travel for sales and training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Strong technical background.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using CRM software, Microsoft Office, and other related tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with the industry or company products/services.
- Experience in project management.
Physical Demands in Office:
- Sedentary Work: Primarily seated while working on a computer or phone for extended periods.
- Repetitive Tasks: Regular typing, data entry, and handling customer queries.
- Minimal Physical Activity: Occasionally moving around the office or home workspace to retrieve materials or attend meetings. May have to lift 10-20lbs occasionally.
- Technology driven-Use of computers, headsets, telephones, cell phones, and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software.
- High contact role-Continuous interaction with customers and internal employees via Teams, phone, text or email.
- Stressful Situations-May deal with difficult or upset customers or employees, requiring patience and conflict resolution skills.
- Moderate Noise-In office may involve background chatter or phone calls in open workspaces.
- Problem-Solving: trouble shooting and resolving customer issues on a project
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in communication and documentation
- May face pressure to meet deadlines, especially during busy times. This can create stress and fatigue, particularly when working on complex tasks.
- Walking & Standing – Engineers often walk long distances across the facility, sometimes on uneven or wet surfaces, and stand for extended periods while conducting inspections.
- Climbing & Heights – Many wastewater plants have elevated platforms, ladders, and stairways that engineers must climb to access tanks, aerators, and other equipment.
- Confined Spaces – Some inspections may require entry into confined spaces, such as tanks or tunnels, which require physical maneuverability and proper safety precautions.
- Exposure to Odors & Chemicals – Engineers must tolerate strong odors and potential exposure to chemicals used in treatment processes (e.g., chlorine, ammonia).
- Lifting & Carrying – Depending on the visit's purpose, engineers may need to lift or carry tools, sampling equipment, or other materials.
- Protective Gear – Wearing PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and sometimes respirators can add to the physical strain.
- Weather Exposure – If working outdoors, engineers may face extreme temperatures, rain, or humidity, depending on the location and season.
- Dexterity & Fine Motor Skills – Handling tools, taking samples, or using instruments may require steady hands and coordination.

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
