The Irrigation Technician assists the Irrigation Department. Responsibilities may include upgrading systems, installations and maintenance of residential and commercial systems. Tasks will include communicating with other members of the Company and team. Will work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Your responsibilities may include but are not limited too:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation systems and related components, including irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, valves, control panels, pumps, and controllers
- Operate power equipment and hand tools safely, including trenchers and digging equipment
- Inspect irrigation systems for proper operation, coverage, pressure, and timing; adjust controllers as needed
- Identify system deficiencies, leaks, or inefficiencies and recommend or perform corrective actions
- Perform seasonal services such as system start-ups, winterization, draining, and ongoing monitoring
- Ensure proper care, use, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials
- Follow all safety procedures and promote safe, environmentally responsible work practices
- May assist with or lead irrigation-related projects and perform other landscape or grounds maintenance duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of irrigation system design, installation, maintenance, and repair
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and irrigation plans
- Ability to troubleshoot irrigation system issues effectively
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Experience operating trenching machines, digging tools, and related landscape equipment
- Commitment to following safety guidelines at all times
- Physically able to perform manual labor and work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods
Experience & Expertise:
- Experience in irrigation or the landscape industry is preferred
- Bilingual Fluency (English/Spanish) is preferred
- Clean drivers license
- Training available
This is a full time, non-exempt position.
The position reports to the Irrigation Foreman.
The position's primary work location will be East Hampton, New York.
