Financial Controller – Jewelry Industry Focus (Public Accounting Client)
We are hiring a Financial Controller on behalf of a growing jewelry-focused client through a public accounting environment. This role will support financial operations, oversee accounting functions, and partner with leadership on financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger activities
- Manage month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, budget variances, and operational reports in accordance with GAAP
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax filings and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation across all accounting activities
- Supervise and mentor a small accounting team (2–3 staff members)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5–10 years of accounting and accounting leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting operations
- Experience with QuickBooks, Dynamics 365 Business Central, and advanced Excel skills preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, multitasking, and leadership abilities
- Experience supporting retail, luxury goods, inventory-heavy, or jewelry-related businesses is a plus
Salary : $150,000 - $250,000
