Field Engineer Plumbing

Position Summary

Whitegate Construction is hiring a Field Engineer to support our plumbing work on multifamily projects in the Philadelphia area.

This is an entry-level position.

Recent graduates and candidates with some construction exposure are encouraged to apply. 

The Field Engineer works on site with our foremen and project manager. The job is to walk the project every day, take photos, track what gets installed, and help keep the paperwork in order.

We build garden-style, podium, and mid-rise apartment projects.This is a field role and it is an important one. You will not be at a desk. Plan on being on your feet all day, on ladders, in framed buildings, and outside in whatever the weather is doing. We want someone who is organized, dependable, and willing to ask questions. We will teach you the rest.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Field Support

• Walk the site each morning with the foreman. Know what is going in that day.

• Help stage and check materials by floor and unit type.

• Serve as a point of contact on site for the Whitegate Construction team.

Documentation, Records & Photographs

• Take photos of in-wall and underground work before it is covered. Organize them by date, location, and system.

• Complete daily field reports. Cover manpower, work in place, weather, deliveries, and visitors.

• Track installed quantities by unit and by floor for monthly billing.

Inspections & Quality

• Help with QA/QC checks.

• Build and track punch lists by unit. Close items out with photos.

Required Qualifications

• Organized and detail oriented. You will be responsible for a lot of logs and records.

• Good written and verbal communication.

• Basic Microsoft Office skills.

• Able to spend the day on an active job site in any weather, on ladders, and walking through framed buildings.

• Valid driver's license.

• Comfortable using a computer, iPad, or similar device.
