Tax Manager or Tax Director - State and Local Tax

You will have the chance to work closely with Tax Partners, engaging in planning and compliance activities to meet client needs. This role offers a platform to demonstrate your ability to manage firm risk and provide insightful tax consulting services.

• Develop and maintain client relationships, understanding their business needs.
• Collaborate with Tax Partners to ensure effective planning and compliance.
• Manage firm risk associated with tax services and communicate these risks effectively.
• Conduct research, write reports, and consult on various tax engagements.
• Respond to inquiries from state tax authorities.
• Oversee sales tax and other tax return preparations.
• Train and supervise staff, reviewing and evaluating their work.
• Manage multiple clients, budgets, and production goals efficiently.

• BA/BS/MS degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university; MST preferred.
• CPA, EA, JD, or relevant certification/experience in an area of specialization required.
• Minimum of 6 years progressive tax experience in public accounting.
• At least 6 years of experience in SALT.
• Understanding of risks associated with technical tax positions and ability to communicate these to partners.
