Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive auto body repairs, including dent removal, sheet metal work, and structural alignment using welding repair techniques such as MIG welding.
- Utilize fabrication skills to modify or create custom parts using sheet metal, power tools, and fabrication repair techniques to meet specific restoration needs.
- Conduct automotive cosmetic repairs including sanding, auto painting, auto body refinishing, and detailing to achieve flawless finishes.
- Operate automotive welding equipment for structural repairs, auto restoration projects, and assembly tasks with precision and safety.
- Install automotive parts such as auto glass, trim pieces, and other components while ensuring proper fitment and alignment.
- Apply automotive dent repair methods and use sanding tools to smooth surfaces for a polished appearance.
- Perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment during restoration projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician with a focus on restoration projects; restoration shop experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of auto body repair, automotive structural repair, and auto restoration techniques.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, welding repair, and fabrication repair techniques using automotive welding equipment.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and paint spraying systems for finishing work.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and automotive parts installation, is a plus.
- Experience with auto painting, automotive cosmetic repair, auto glass installation, and detailing processes.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate information clearly.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during repairs.
