Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with brides and bridal consultants to understand specific fitting needs and design preferences
- Use commercial sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to construct, alter, and customize wedding gowns and accessories
- Perform precise garment fittings, making adjustments for perfect fit and comfort
- Manage garment construction processes including patterning, cutting, sewing, pressing, and finishing details
- Maintain high standards of quality control throughout all stages of gown creation and alteration
Experience
- Proven experience in sewing, garment construction, or fashion retail environments with a focus on formal or bridal wear preferred
- Skilled in operating sewing machines and hand-sewing tools with precision and efficiency
- Strong understanding of garment fitting techniques and fabric behavior for delicate fabrics like lace, satin, tulle, and silk
- Basic math skills for taking accurate measurements, calculating fabric needs, and adjusting patterns as needed
- Excellent customer service skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for brides during fittings and consultations
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced setting
