The White River Valley Middle School (WRVMS), located in Bethel, Vermont, is seeking a dynamic and committed Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about literacy, inspired by collaboration, and dedicated to engaging students in meaningful and rigorous learning experiences.About the Position: This is a full-time position serving students in grades 6-8. For the 2026-27 school year, WRVMSalong with other schools in the White River Valley Supervisory Unionis continuing to implement EL Educations ELA curriculum in grades 3-8. These high-quality, research-based instructional materials focus on rich, engaging texts, real-world connections, and a structured, knowledge-building approach to reading and writing.
EL Education aligns with our district-wide shift toward the science of reading while building content knowledge, and supports students in becoming critical thinkers, effective communicators, and ethical contributors.Support and Professional Development: We are committed to supporting teachers with the tools and training needed to successfully implement EL Education English Language Arts. An incoming ELA teacher will receive training to support their understanding of these high quality instructional materials. The Ideal Candidate Will: Hold or be eligible for a Vermont Educators License with an appropriate endorsement (419A or similar)Bring experience or interest in implementing high-quality instructional materialsDemonstrate a belief in meeting all learners where they are and guiding them to successBe a collaborative team member willing to grow with colleagues and studentsEmbrace the opportunities of a rural, community-centered middle school settingAbout WRVMS: White River Valley Middle School serves students from the towns of Bethel and Royalton in grades 6-8.
