The White River Valley Middle School (WRVMS), located in Bethel, Vermont, is seeking a dynamic and committed Middle School English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about literacy, inspired by collaboration, and dedicated to engaging students in meaningful and rigorous learning experiences. About the Position: This is a full-time position serving students in grades 6-8. For the 2026-27 school year, WRVMS—along with other schools in the White River Valley Supervisory Union—is continuing to implement EL Education’s ELA curriculum in grades 3-8. These high-quality, research-based instructional materials focus on rich, engaging texts, real-world connections, and a structured, knowledge-building approach to reading and writing. EL Education aligns with our district-wide shift toward the science of reading while building content knowledge, and supports students in becoming critical thinkers, effective communicators, and ethical contributors. Support and Professional Development: We are committed to supporting teachers with the tools and training needed to successfully implement EL Education English Language Arts. An incoming ELA teacher will receive training to support their understanding of these high quality instructional materials. The Ideal Candidate Will: Hold or be eligible for a Vermont Educator’s License with an appropriate endorsement (4–19A or similar) Bring experience or interest in implementing high-quality instructional materials Demonstrate a belief in meeting all learners where they are and guiding them to success Be a collaborative team member willing to grow with colleagues and students Embrace the opportunities of a rural, community-centered middle school setting About WRVMS: White River Valley Middle School serves students from the towns of Bethel and Royalton in grades 6-8.
