Position Summary
Maternal Child Associate acts as an office assistant for the Neonatal ICU, Mother-Baby and/or Labor and Delivery and must demonstrate good guest relations with patients, physicians, staff, auxiliary departments, communityagencies and the public. The Associate keeps all patient charts current with the most recent forms and demonstrates accurate, timely collating of any patient admissions. The Associate ensures ordering and maintenance of clinical and clerical supplies for the unit as well as assists with data billing/charges for patients and admissions data input.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:
1. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
2. Transcribes other data as directed and enters on patient’s chart
3. Entering of Doctor’s orders into the OC system
4. Assists with patient data billing and patient charges
5. Perform necessary typing tasks
6. Ordering and maintaining of clinical and clerical supplies for both Post Partum and Labor and Delivery unit
7. Stocks and maintains supplies on the units.
8. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Knowledge of medical terminology
Basic computer skills
Ability to use multi-function phone system and handle several calls at one time
Good writing, spelling and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Communication skills: Must be able to speak, write, understand and communicate the English language. Utilizes good telephone skills/etiquette. Able to maintain composure in stressful situations and organization in a chaotic climate.

Must be physically able to maintain manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, stamina, ability to lift, push, pull, bend,stoop, walk, etc. for extended periods of time.
Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment
May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.

Salary : $46,099 - $69,149
