Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans that incorporate medical nutrition therapy (MNT), tube feeding protocols, and dietary modifications tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Supervise dietary staff ensuring adherence to safety standards and best practices in clinical nutrition.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments focusing on nutritional status, diagnostic evaluation, weight management, and chronic disease management.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and pharmacists to coordinate nutritional interventions and optimize patient care.
- Stay current with advances in physiology knowledge, clinical nutrition practices, and hospital or long-term care regulations to enhance service quality.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience in a healthcare or dietary department environment with strong leadership skills.
- Experience working with individuals with specific dietary needs such as tube feeding or specialized diets for chronic conditions.
- Prior experience in long-term care settings is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities including patient assessment, staff supervision, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
