An overview of this position entails…
1. Serve as a generalist staff accountant. Support month-end financial close activities (i.e., making journal entries and reviewing and reconciling balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy).
2. Perform cash management activities such as program and medical billing, monthly reconciliation of cash accounts and grant budgets, preparation of weekly bank deposits, and resolution of stale checks.
3. Assist with fixed asset accounting, grant accounting, and project accounting, including providing support for monthly grant invoicing and reimbursement as needed.
4. Assist with preparation of information requests for the annual financial audit, single audit, and tax returns.
5. Provide support for accounting, reporting, and compliance projects.
6. Prepare and submit sales tax returns.
7. Prepare, verify and distribute annual vendor 1099’s.
8. Maintain knowledge and cross-training in order to provide secondary coverage for other accounting staff such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, grant billing, and payroll.
9. Work collaboratively with the Finance Team to maintain and improve cross-functional processes and associated internal controls that protect financial resources and drive efficiency.
10. Work collaboratively with grant program managers to ensure financial compliance with grant requirements.
More Specifically, In This Role We Request: This position requires some specific skills that we hope you can bring.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and two years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This role will work closely with our grant-funded programs and the rest of our grant accounting team. Grant billing or grant accounting experience preferred.
