Based out of our corporate office in Merrillville, Indiana, this role sits at the intersection of real estate development and hospitality finance, managing the full accounting lifecycle for multi-million dollar construction projects across multiple markets simultaneously.

What You'll Do
- Review general contractor payment applications for accuracy and compliance with contract terms
- Prepare draw requests to be submitted to lenders for construction project funding
- Verify general contractor and subcontractor monthly lien waivers
- Ensure timely payment to general contractors and maintain positive vendor relationships
- Prepare monthly general ledger audits for active construction projects
- Prepare monthly construction work-in-progress (CWIP) work papers
- Code project invoices for processing and ensure proper cost allocation
- Prepare fixed asset reconciliation and closing journal entries upon project completion
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Strong communication skills for working directly with lenders, bankers, and general contractors
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent project deadlines and perform well under pressure
- Strong organizational and analytical problem-solving skills
- Experience in construction accounting and fixed asset accounting — required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with construction accounting software is a plus
- Core competencies: Productivity, Sense of Urgency, Communication, Decision Making, Dependability, and Problem Solving & Analysis
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field — required
- 2 years of project accounting or construction accounting experience preferred
- Experience in real estate development, hospitality, or multi-site capital project accounting strongly preferred
