Sales & Design Consultant

White Door Events
Memphis, TN Full Time
POSTED ON 10/19/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 2/16/2027

POSITION SUMMARY : The Design Consultant (DC) is responsible for building strong client relationships and leading the sales and design vision behind every event, from the first inquiry through final production. The DC is in communication with the client throughout the entire process, inspiring them to dream big while ensuring the White Door Events standard of design and excellence is always met. Every event at White Door Events has two dedicated points of contact: a Design Consultant, who leads the client relationship, sales process, and design vision, and an Event Coordinator (EC), who leads the logistics, order accuracy, and production of that vision. This partnership allows the DC to focus on business development, design, and the client experience, while the EC ensures every detail behind the scenes is accurate and on schedule. This role calls for passion, enthusiasm, creativity, and an outgoing, energetic approach to working with clients. Organization and communication skills are essential, as the DC balances new business development, design consultations, and client relationships across a fast-paced, ever-changing daily schedule.

  • Identify opportunities to introduce clients to additional products and services that fit their event needs. Client & Design Consultations
  • Conduct client meetings and walk-in showroom consultations.
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and vision, and inspire them to dream big within the White Door Events standard of design and excellence.
  • Conceptualize and deliver design and rental concepts using CAD software to provide clients a visual rendering of their event.
  • Learn inventory, products, and services extensively to build a strong, style-driven creative foundation.
  • Call every client within 2–3 days after their event for post-event follow-up. Proposals & Contracts
  • Prepare sales proposals, quotes, and initial contracts, inputting inventory, delivery timing, and specification notes into Point of Rental.
  • Obtain a price quote for tents when needed, and order and schedule tents for assigned events.
  • Partner with the assigned Event Coordinator to hand off confirmed events for detailed order entry, logistics coordination, and day-to-day account management. On-Site Design Leadership
  • Partner with the assigned Event Coordinator on-site to see a design through from first meeting to execution, ensuring the final setup reflects the approved design vision.
  • Support the operations team on design intent and creative decisions during setup, using strong time management to keep the event on schedule.
  • Travel to, and attendance at, the event itself is evaluated case by case and requires the Director of Sales' approval; it is not an automatic part of every event. Team & Professional Standards
  • Work as part of a team, with a willingness to go the extra mile for one another.
  • Listen effectively and communicate clearly, sparking creativity and inspiration in both clients and teammates.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail when preparing quotes, listening to client needs, and communicating with the broader team.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple clients and projects in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to make quick, sound decisions to ensure client needs are always met.
  • Comfortable presenting design concepts and pricing to clients with confidence and enthusiasm.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Work requires local travel to client sites, venues, and design meetings.
  • May require out-of-state travel for events on a case-by-case basis, with approval from the Director of Sales.
  • Attendance at the event itself is case by case and requires Director of Sales approval; see On-Site Design Leadership above.
  • Work requires a valid state driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
  • Schedule requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the event and client calendar.
  • Average 40–45 hour work week, with variation around peak event season.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Working conditions include both a normal office/showroom environment and active event and warehouse settings.
  • Regularly operates a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time, with the remainder spent standing, walking, and moving during client meetings, site visits, and event setups.
