The Warehouse Clerk safely loads clean trailers with White Castle product that has been properly rotated, ships with proper documentation, and is efficient in our WMS system. This position description does not contain a comprehensive list of required duties and responsibilities. The Warehouse Clerk is expected to perform related duties assigned by management, which may be added, revised, or eliminated based on business and operational needs, with or without advance notice. The Warehouse Clerk safely loads clean trailers with White Castle product that has been properly rotated, ships with proper documentation, and is efficient in our WMS system. This position description does not contain a comprehensive list of required duties and responsibilities. The Warehouse Clerk is expected to perform related duties assigned by management, which may be added, revised, or eliminated based on business and operational needs, with or without advance notice. The role must follow the direction and guidance of the Operations Supervisor and the Plant Manager.
What We Are Looking For
- High school diploma or GED is required;
- Prior warehouse and inventory experience preferred;
- Experience with WMS/ERP warehouse software preferred;
- Must have ability and have prior experience driving a forklift;
- Ability to become licensed for the operation of a forklift and motorized hand jack;
- Possess proficient computer experience with Microsoft word, Outlook & Excel;
- Aptitude to complete the 10-hour OSHA training and yearly leadership training course through Alchemy;
- Possess good verbal communication skills, teamwork, ability to give and receive direction, and follow detailed instructions;
- Aptitude to stay focused and accomplish multiple tasks independently with limited supervision and within established timeframes;
- Competent in effective communication and interpersonal skills with supervisors, drivers, and operations supervisor, in the absence of the traffic/warehouse coordinator.
- Loading bun orders and other supplies needed;
- Fill out bill of lading for orders shipped & fill out trailer loading logs;
- Inspecting and receiving deliveries & inspecting trailer’s and verifying what we ordered;
- Fill out freezer sheet, keep trailer reefers running, shuttle and park trailers;
- Keep the freezer and warehouse clean and organized; keep dock organized, sweep dock and trailers;
- Inspect the condition of incoming trailers and daily fork truck inspections;
- Ensure during shipping and receiving, that unsafe and unapproved items do not enter or leave the bakery;
- Fill in for the Warehouse Coordinator in their absence; and conduct daily inventory count to determine the amount of product produced the previous day;
- Utilize the WFM system to add pallets, create & print bill of lading, scan & load buns following a systematic process;
- Store load locks, seal loaded trailers that have finished product;
- Load and unload scrap bun totes, load scrap cardboard;
- File all paperwork, bun inventory and ingredient inventory;
- Assists with salting back lots in winter months; Comply with incident reporting policies and procedures;
- Adhere to Plant’s security and safety policies and procedures; and
- Communicate effectively with customers and all levels of the organization in a professional manner, display a positive demeanor and be responsive to the teams’ needs;
- Must be flexible to work hours to meet the needs of the plant including any shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Aptitude to work in and withstand various temperate conditions and loading trucks in cold temperatures;
- Ability to frequently sit, stand and be on feet for long periods of time;
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted) per day as supplies or material are received;
- Frequent bending, stooping, climbing in awkward positions;
