Preparation of Surfaces:
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and priming as necessary to ensure proper adhesion and finish. -
Painting and Finishing:
Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to a variety of surfaces, including walls, ceilings, and furniture, using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. -
Color Matching:
Mix and match paint colors to ensure consistency with existing color schemes and provide recommendations based on aesthetic preferences. -
Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform minor repairs to damaged surfaces before painting, and help with general maintenance tasks around the facility as needed, contributing to overall upkeep and improvements. -
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the safe handling of chemicals and solvents. -
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels of paints, primers, and supplies; order materials as needed to ensure consistent workflow. -
Collaboration:
Work closely with the Facilities Manager and other team members to complete projects on time and within budget, providing input on timelines and project scopes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a painter, preferably in a commercial or residential setting.
- Familiarity with painting techniques and materials, including knowledge of color theory and mixing.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively.

The Painter at Camp Lucy is responsible for performing skilled painting and finishing tasks in various settings across the property.
