Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- High school graduate.
- Two years’ experience in physician office medical record department preferred.
- Scans outside medical records; reconcile labs and diagnostic test results, hospital or other consultation reports into the EMR.
- Courteous and friendly with a professional attitude at all times to patients, physicians, co-workers and others.
- Retrieves all laboratory and diagnostic results and distributed to correct providers and then scanned into EPIC.
- Scan in surgery orders and consents for easy access for PAT.
- Fax appointment letters or any other correspondences to the referring or primary care physicians..
- Helps patient registrar at the front desk as needed.
- Greets patients and visitors and assists them as appropriate while also demonstrating excellent verbal and communication skills. Provides excellent customer service at all times.
- Demonstrates ability to promptly and professionally answer incoming telephone calls, assist caller, take written messages, create in-basket messages, or directly route the caller to the appropriate person in a professional and kind manner.
- Ability to multi-task in an efficient appropriate manner.
- Demonstrates prioritization skills.
- Brings issues and problems to the attention of management in a timely fashion.
- Completes all other responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, lifting and grasping are necessary body movements utilized in performing duties throughout the work shift.
- Must be able to read and write legibly in English.
- Visual acuity must be within normal range.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to exert in excess of 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/ or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/ or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Must have manual dexterity to operate keyboards, fax machines, telephones, copiers and other business equipment.
- Exposure to electrical current.
- Must be capable of perform.
- Must be capable of working within a confined office space under fluorescent lighting.
- Must have ability to maintain concentration in and around noise from office machinery such as copier, printers, and telephones.
- Must have ability to perform concentrated mental activity to organize, prioritize and complete assigned tasks.
- Must have knowledge of CRT, calculator (10 key), copier, fax, telephones and printers to complete assigned duties.
- Must be capable of following oral and/or written instructions. In addition, the associate must be capable of applying for and/or written instructions to assigned projects without prompting.
- Must have the ability to make sound judgments and be able to collaborate with other team members in an appropriate manner.
- Must have effective reading and comprehension skills.
- Must have strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Must be able to multi-task.
