Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a detail-oriented Mortgage Portfolio Transfer Specialist to support a mortgage loan portfolio transfer project for one of our valued clients. This contract opportunity is ideal for a mortgage professional with strong Microsoft Excel skills who enjoys working with large datasets, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining organized loan documentation.

The ideal candidate has prior mortgage industry experience, understands mortgage loan terminology and documentation, and can efficiently manage high-volume, detail-driven work while meeting project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Mortgage Portfolio Transfer

• Support the transfer of mortgage loan portfolio data and documentation.
• Review, update, and validate mortgage loan information throughout the transfer process.
• Compare data across spreadsheets, reports, and mortgage records to ensure consistency.
• Identify missing, incomplete, or inaccurate loan information and resolve basic discrepancies.
• Track project progress and maintain accurate status reports.
• Communicate data issues, exceptions, and project updates to the appropriate team members.

Data Management & Quality Control

• Enter, organize, and maintain mortgage loan data using Microsoft Excel.
• Sort, filter, format, and organize large spreadsheets.
• Utilize Excel formulas to validate, reconcile, and analyze loan information.
• Perform quality control reviews to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain organized documentation while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience working in the mortgage industry is required.
• Strong understanding of mortgage terminology, loan documentation, and mortgage data.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
• Data entry
• Sorting and filtering
• Formulas
• Formatting
• Spreadsheet organization and reconciliation
• Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to quickly learn new processes and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform repetitive, data-intensive work while maintaining quality and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting mortgage servicing, loan operations, portfolio transfers, or loan boarding projects.
• Experience reconciling large datasets and identifying data inconsistencies.
• Familiarity with mortgage loan documentation and servicing systems.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay rate of $21.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experience.
