Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking Mortgage Lending Closing Specialist a for an onsite opportunity in Meriden, CT. This role is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating documentation required to complete approved mortgage mitigation transactions in accordance with investor guidelines and internal policies.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and interested in building a career within mortgage servicing, loan operations, or default management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare closing documentation for loan modifications, deeds in lieu of foreclosure, and short sale transactions.
- Review title reports, loan documents, and supporting records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate document recording activities with third-party vendors and recording offices.
- Maintain tracking reports for outstanding documentation and follow up as needed.
- Identify and resolve title, documentation, and closing deficiencies.
- Verify short sale closing costs for compliance with investor guidelines.
- Support mitigation processors and underwriters with documentation collection and imaging.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in mortgage servicing, loan operations, banking, real estate, or document processing preferred.
- Knowledge of mortgage loan documentation and title requirements preferred.
- Experience with default servicing, loss mitigation, loan modifications, or foreclosure-related processes is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience with MSP servicing systems is a plus.
