Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Critical Care RN Manager to lead nursing operations within high-acuity hospital units in Framingham, Massachusetts. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing nursing and designated patient care functions while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care.
The Critical Care RN Manager works closely with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to support clinical operations, drive performance improvement initiatives, and maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. This role provides leadership and mentorship to nursing staff while managing resources, staffing, and operational performance across critical care service lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of critical care units, ensuring high standards of patient care, safety, and clinical performance
- Support the Chief Nursing Officer in implementing nursing practice policies, procedures, and performance improvement initiatives
- Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to nursing staff while supporting professional development and competency growth
- Manage unit staffing, schedules, and resource allocation to meet patient care and operational needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes and efficient care delivery
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and hospital leadership to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence in professional nursing practice
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements
- Monitor clinical performance and operational metrics to support quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts
- Academic degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital environment, such as:
- Nurse Manager
- Full-Time Charge Nurse
- Clinical Leadership Role
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated operational knowledge of hospital nursing environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN)
- Previous experience managing critical care or step-down units
Work Environment
- Hospital-based clinical leadership role with 24/7 responsibility for assigned unit(s)
- Exposure to high-acuity and emergency care environments
- Requires periodic standing, walking, and occasional lifting during unit oversight
