Your daily challenges and goals
- Lead and supervise a team of concrete finishers, ensuring work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards.
- Plan, schedule, and assign tasks to crew members, considering project requirements, deadlines, and available resources.
- Basic understanding of blue-prints reading (construction drawings) and measuring instruments.
- Monitor and maintain equipment and small tools such as telehandlers, trowel machines (ride-on and walk-behind), generators, vibrators, saws, etc.
- Use and sequence of straight edges, bull floats, mops and highway straight edges, float blades, combo blades, hand tools, sledgehammer, hand saws, power drills, saws, lasers, finish blades, etc.
- Provide hands-on training and mentorship to less experienced crew members, promoting skill development and best practices.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety awareness among crew members.
- Perform quality control checks on finished concrete surfaces to ensure they meet project specifications and client expectations.
- Manage and coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
- Keep accurate records of project progress, including materials used, work hours, and completed tasks.
- Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during concrete finishing, offering solutions and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members, project stakeholders, and management to provide project updates and address any concerns.
- 5 years of concrete finishing, equipment operation and maintenance.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the construction industry is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using concrete finishing tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Physically fit to climb, stand, kneel, reach, walk, bend, balance, and squat for prolonged periods of time.
- OSHA 30 Certification – preferred.
