WHLR is seeking to add an Account Receivable Specialist to our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive, professional, and client-oriented attitude about the company with coworkers, tenants, clients and the public whether contact is by email, telephone or in person.

 

SALARY RANGE: $45,000-$50,000. Essential Job Duties

  • Compile, process, and maintain accounts receivable records.
  • Deposit tenant cash receipts (checks) the day of receipt or the following morning in the event receipts occur at end of day.
  • Post tenant cash receipts (checks) and electronic rent payments on the day of receipt or the following morning in the event receipts occur at end of day.
  • Review the accuracy of postings monthly when bank reconciliations are completed in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley’s standards. This will ensure accuracy of application of cash receipt to correct bank account.
  • All cash receipts must be posted by the 1st, 6th ,11th, and last day of the month.
  • All prepaid balances should be applied no later than the 16th of the month or the 10th of a quarter-end month.
  • Notify Accounting of any resource restraints impacting the depositing and posting of tenant receipts.
  • Work closely with Lease Administrators and Property Managers to work delinquent tenant accounts.       

 

Experience, Requirements and Core Competencies

  • Solid computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Avid, and MRI or similar.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably Real Estate.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and to seek help when needed.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to multi-task several projects across multiple properties.
  • Detail-oriented person with excellent analytical skills.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Associate's degree in accounting or related field required.
  • 1 to 3 years of account receivables experience, preferably in commercial real estate or related industry.
