Head Girls BB Coach

Job Title: Head Girls Basketball Coach / Teacher Primary Purpose Provide leadership for the girls basketball program while serving as a classroom teacher. Develop student-athletes academically and athletically, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and character in a small rural school environment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Valid Texas teaching certificate (appropriate subject area) CDL (or willingness to obtain) preferred Ability to teach multiple subjects/grade levels preferred Coaching experience preferred Instructional Duties Teach assigned classes and prepare lesson plans aligned with state standards Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment Monitor student progress and communicate with parents Meet all grading, documentation, and compliance requirements Coaching Duties Direct and manage the girls basketball program (7–12 alignment) Plan and conduct practices, skill development, and off-season programs Coach contests and develop game strategies Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork Encourage multi-sport participation Program Management Coordinate with assistant and junior high coaches Maintain equipment, uniforms, and program inventory Assist with scheduling and game arrangements Ensure student-athlete eligibility and required paperwork Performance Expectations Maintain an effective classroom and instructional program Build a competitive, disciplined basketball program Demonstrate leadership, organization, and strong communication Contribute positively to school culture and community pride
