Overview
We are seeking a part-time skilled Repair Technician to join our small team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnostics and small repair/restoration of mobility equipment. This could include manual and motorized wheelchairs, scooters and lift chairs. Additionally, the candidate would be dedicated to ensuring the safety and durability of previously owned equipment such as walkers, shower chairs, canes, and other mobility aides. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a retiree, college student or any person seeking part-time employment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions using appropriate tools and techniques to repair and restore the equipment.
- Perform small repairs on electrical/mechanical systems to restore functionality.
- Ensure all repairs comply with safety standards and company policies.
- Assist in testing repaired equipment to verify proper operation before approving it for sale.
- On occasion, communicate with customer regarding equipment
Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical/mechanical repair, with skills in troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools to make repairs.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to prioritize jobs-work efficiently, know when to move to next task.
- Prior experience working with electrical components and/or small motor repair is a must.
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment as needed and work in various environmental conditions.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $11.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
