WHEATLAND SCHOOL DISTRICT POSITION SDC TEACHER LOCATION BEAR RIVER GRADE Special Day Class SUPERVISION Directly responsible to the Principal Salary will be based upon units above BA & prior teaching experience. May be credited with up to 10 years past teaching experience, salary ranging from $56,040 - $105,640 plus $14,000 towards H&W annually. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Special Education Coordinator and/or Site Principal, plans, implements, and evaluates the instructional activities for individual students. ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to essential functions and duties/responsibilities of teacher: Plans, implements, monitors, and evaluates Individual Education Plan (IEP) of each assigned student. Prepares appropriate lesson plans and objectives based upon individual student’s IEP goals and grade level expectations. Coordinates students’ inclusion into general education classes and activities as an inclusion facilitator/specialist. Performs educational assessments in accordance with California State Standards, district policy, school programs and IEP goals. Develops, implements, monitors and revises behavior support plans as required by students for educational success. As case manager, prepares required student forms and maintains accurate student academic records, attendance records, and cumulative student progress and achievement records and reports. Informs parents of enrolled children concerning progress toward goals and encourages their participation in IEP meetings and parent conferences. Participates in all state/federal review processes as requested. Possesses ability to read, understand, and carry out oral and written directions. Participates in appropriate IEP planning/meetings and other meetings as required. Develops and implements behavior support plans. Trains and supervises special education aides. Performs the duties of an inclusion facilitator/specialist.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with valid California Teaching Credential and the appropriate Special Education Specialist Instruction Credential – Moderate/Severe Disabilities and authorization for the specific position.
