Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and vehicle recovery towing, to assist stranded or damaged vehicles efficiently and safely
- Safely load and unload vehicles onto tow trucks following cargo securement protocols
- Perform minor mechanical repairs and basic vehicle troubleshooting to address common issues on-site
- Conduct automotive diagnostics and repair tasks for various vehicle types, including trucks and cars
- Follow all safety procedures during vehicle loading, unloading, and roadside assistance to prevent accidents or injuries
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients and ensuring their needs are met professionally
- Maintain detailed logs of all towing activities, repairs performed, and vehicle conditions for record-keeping purposes
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and minor repairs
- Proven ability in commercial truck driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and experience in commercial driving environments
- Skilled in vehicle mechanics specific to truck drivers and car towing operations
- Knowledge of cargo securement protocols and safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks
- Excellent driving skills with manual transmission proficiency and safe driving practices
- Ability to troubleshoot basic vehicle issues quickly and accurately using automotive diagnostics tools
- Conflict management skills to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally
- Experience operating specialized equipment such as forklifts when needed for load handling or warehouse support
- Familiarity with vehicle recovery towing techniques using tow trucks, including flatbeds and other specialized equipment
- Strong customer service orientation with clear communication skills for interacting with clients under stressful circumstances
