Job Summary
The Admission Services Representative is responsible for providing outstanding customer service while managing front office operations. This role greets patients and visitors, registers patients, verifies insurance and demographic information, collects payments, schedules appointments, and helps ensure an efficient patient flow.
Key Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and exceptional customer service.
Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information.
Schedule patient appointments and coordinate daily patient flow.
Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required referrals.
Collect co-pays and other patient payments.
Explain the sliding fee program and determine eligibility according to established guidelines.
Accurately enter and scan patient information into the electronic medical record (EMR).
Prepare daily deposits and maintain accurate payment records.
Maintain assigned petty cash/change fund.
Identify patients who require immediate isolation or triage and notify appropriate staff.
Participate in team-based patient care.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Previous medical office or customer service experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
