Job Summary
The Auditor"s Office has a vacancy for the position of Clerk III in the Recording Division.
SUMMARY
Performs a variety of duties to support the recording division, including providing efficient and courteous customer service to the public.
Performs complex and diverse office, clerical and secretarial support functions to facilitate the workflow and to assist in departmental activities. Responsible for distinct areas of responsibility including internal and external communication, service to the public, recording and retrieval of data and/or information and other paperwork required in an office. Functions as a member of a team performing routine and complex level work. Works under limited direction.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Accepts and records legal documents. Indexes and verifies recorded documents.

Assists and provides the public and title companies the most current information on laws, regulations, and ordinances.

Assists the public in researching recorded documents through a computer data base and/or micro file.

Issues marriage licenses and marriage certificates.

Responsible for individual balancing of cash drawer and documentation recorded throughout the day.

Performs other duties as assigned and provides backup, working closely with other employees and supervisor.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must take an oath as Deputy Auditor.
Must have a driving record that meets County standards and posses a driver's license at time of hire and throughout employment.

Supervisor: Recording/Licensing Supervisor Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or GED AND three (3) years of progressively responsible general office, clerical and/or secretarial experience.
Completion of college-level computer courses in database, spreadsheet and word processing is desirable.
Requires the ability to type accurately and proficiently with a speed of 40 net words per minute and perform data entry at 130 net strokes per minute.
Background check must meet County criteria.
Must pass job-related tests. Salary
Teamsters Master Collective Bargaining Agreement
Range 108.0
Full Salary Range: $18.51 - $28.07 per hour
This position receives annual pay increases.
