Processes and records documents relating to real estate transactions, enters recorded documents into the computer, assists and conducts searches of records, makes copies of requested documents and charges appropriate fee for services. Processes marriage license applications and provides notary public services when required.This is an on-call/part-time position (8 hrs. each Monday and Friday with an increase to 40 hrs./week from June 24 to August 8, 2025 only).Salary upon hire is step 1 ($24.15/hour). The Office Assistant III (Recording) is range 10 of the General Salary Schedule.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Receive and process documents using automated recording program, entering applicable information for indexing recorded documents. Collect appropriate fee for services. Process incoming mail; copy and record checks in receipt log; post outgoing mail.Assist the public with research and records retrieval. Make certified or non-certified copies of requested documents. Balance daily fees collected and reconcile cash and checks with receipts. Prepare daily deposit to Treasurer when necessary. Complete document indexing in recording software application and perform error audit on data. Perform public Notary services as requested. Supervisory: None. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: May be tasked with performing related duties. Related duties as required are duties that may not be specifically listed in the position description but are within the general occupational series and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's classification of work.
