Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness using platforms such as ADP, Paychex, Workday, or SAP SuccessFactors.
- Manage payroll data collection, validation, and analysis to maintain integrity and compliance with federal and state labor laws, including FMLA and OSHA regulations.
- Lead payroll-related audits, reconcile discrepancies, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Supervise payroll staff and coordinate training on HRIS systems like Oracle HCM, UltiPro, Kronos, or Dayforce to ensure high performance.
- Collaborate with HR teams on benefits administration, employee relations issues, and employee evaluation processes related to compensation.
- Ensure compliance with employment contracts, labor law requirements, workers’ compensation policies, and OSHA standards.
- Develop and implement strategies for talent acquisition support related to payroll onboarding processes and employee orientation programs.
- Support senior leadership in strategic planning initiatives around human capital management and organizational design.
- Manage communication efforts related to payroll updates, policy changes, and training sessions for managers and employees.
Qualifications
- Proven experience supervising payroll operations within a human resources environment; familiarity with platforms such as Paylocity or Ceridian is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of employment law including FMLA, workers’ compensation, OSHA regulations, and labor law compliance.
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation, conflict management, and change management to foster positive employee relations.
- Expertise in HR sourcing strategies including recruiting, talent management, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in data collection and analysis.
- Effective communication skills for presenting complex information clearly to diverse audiences including senior leadership.
- Experience with HRIS systems such as PeopleSoft or Taleo for process improvement and data management purposes.
