Summary:
WHA is seeking a creative, detail‑oriented team member who supports the development of thoughtful, site‑sensitive color and materials concepts for a wide range of residential and mixed‑use projects. This role contributes to the creation of timeless, market‑responsive palettes that enhance architectural character and elevate community identity.
Our WHA Color Studio operates in close collaboration with planning, architecture, and design disciplines, offering a uniquely integrated environment where ideas move quickly from concept to execution. This position is ideal for a motivated designer who is passionate about architecture, materials, color, and architectural context, who thrives in a fast‑paced studio where creativity, teamwork and precision shape highly marketable, enduring design solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of color and materials documents.
- Prepare color boards and office sample sets.
- Strategically assign elevation types and color schemes to buildings.
- Produce Color Application Packages and Color Studies.
- Organize and maintain project files. Order and organize material samples.
- Travel periodically to project sites to conduct color and material reviews.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of architecture, historic architectural styles, building materials and color.
- Knowledge and experience in color theory, color usage and graphic design.
- AA or BA degree and or experience in interior design, architecture or related field.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Word, Excel and Digital Color Management
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp and Revit.
