This position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Network (VISN 6), Salisbury, NC Medical Center (MC). This position is assigned and located under the Office of the Chief, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Service (PM&RS), Salisbury VA Medical Center, Salisbury, NC.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7 or higher. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Provides administrative support to the Service Chief and Administrative Officer.
Manages the service Fund Control Point (FCP) and medical supply requests completing all related actions.Serves as the In-service Coordinator and Talent Management System (TMS) Administrator for the ACOS and is responsible for all aspects of TMS management for PM&RS.Manages the Patient Advocate Tracking System (PATS-R) cases, communicates with Veterans and staff to research and/or resolve issues, and documents actions in PATS-R.
Serves as the surrogate for both equipment inventory list (EIL) tasks and as a Personal Identification Verification (PIV) sponsor.
Responsible for collecting and analyzing data from a variety of sources and providing information to the ACOS and Administrative Officer.
Manages clinic cancellations for the Service Chief's direct reports completing all related actions.
Responsible for tasks associated with consult tracking, appointment management, clinic profiles and scheduling.
Other duties as assigned.

- Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Planning, scheduling, and conducting projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work operations in a program or support setting; developing new or modified work methods, organizational structures, records and files, management processes, procedures for administering program services, guidelines and procedures, practical knowledge; developed through increasingly difficult, regulations, principles, and peculiarities of the Patient Safety, Risk Management and Quality Management programs; consideration, and resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature; and space planning; development and administration of questionnaires. OR,
- Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or at least 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B or J.D., if related. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with your application materials. - Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an equivalent combination of specialized experience and graduate level education of 2 years pr progressively higher-level education to such degree.
