Key Responsibilities:
- Assembly:
Assemble crates and ensure proper bracing and blocking for shock and vibration protection. - Material Preparation:
Prepare and apply cushioning, foam, and inner packing materials to secure items for shipment. - Documentation & Labeling:
Apply appropriate handling, destination, and hazard markings and ensure compliance with packaging standards. - Tool Operation:
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, nail guns, saws, and other equipment like banders and forklifts. - Safety & Maintenance:
Maintain a clean and OSHA-compliant work environment, perform safety inspections, and report equipment issues. - Collaboration:
Work with logistics and quality assurance teams to meet shipping deadlines and fulfill customer requirements. - Fabrication:
Measure, cut, and construct wooden crates, pallets, and custom containers using various wood and plywood materials.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Woodworking Skills: Proficiency in woodworking and the ability to operate saws and nail guns.
- Measurement & Precision: Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
