Purpose:
The Medical Records Specialist will maintain, organize, and summarize medical and billing records, legal files, and documents using designated systems and procedures. This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Birmingham, Alabama, office. Compensation for this role includes a competitive hourly rate, a discretionary bonus, and benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
- Medical Records Coordination: Process, submit, and track medical records requests, ensuring proper authorizations and timely follow-up
- Records Review & Case Support: Organize and verify medical records, submit evidence, and assist with hearing preparation and deadlines
- Billing & Documentation Management: Process invoices, track expenses, and maintain accurate records across systems (Litify, Arctrieval, Ramp)
- Collaboration & Workflow Oversight: Communicate with attorneys, vendors, and internal teams while monitoring workflows to ensure timely case progression
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in a records management environment required.
- Prior law firm experience preferred.
- Knowledge of litigation documents a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and document management systems.
- Excellent written communication skills with strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally at all levels of the firm.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently.
