We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Initial Application Specialist to join our Social Security Disability team. In this role, you will support Case Managers and assist clients through the early stages of the disability application process. This is a full-time, in-person role in our Birmingham, Alabama office. Compensation for the position is a competitive hourly rate, depending on experience, plus a discretionary bonus and benefits.

Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling incoming calls and emails
- Assist Case Managers with preparing, reviewing, and submitting initial disability applications
- Communicate with clients to collect information, provide updates, and answer general questions
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with company policies
- Track application progress and follow up on outstanding items to ensure timely processing
- Support the team with additional tasks and projects as needed
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1 year of administrative or customer service experience preferred
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Experience in a legal, medical, or government setting is a plus
- Familiarity with Social Security Disability processes is a plus
