Location: Charlotte, NC (newly expanded office space in South Charlotte area/Ballantyne Corporate Park!)

About the Role

Wetherill Engineering, Inc. (WEI) is hiring a Hydraulic Project Manager to lead hydrology and hydraulic design for transportation projects. You’ll manage project scopes, conduct stormwater and drainage analysis, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.


What You’ll Do

  • Oversee hydrology and hydraulic design for roadway drainage, stormwater systems, and erosion control.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for transportation projects.
  • Design stormwater management systems, bridge and culvert hydraulics, and outfall analysis.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and client coordination.
  • Utilize MicroStation, GEOPAK Drainage, HEC-RAS, Open Roads Designer, and SUDA.
  • Mentor junior engineers and conduct fieldwork verification.


What You Bring

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • P.E. license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • 10 years of hydraulic design experience, preferably on NCDOT projects.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of NCDOT Guidelines, FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual, and erosion control.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
