Job Summary

The Millwork Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals for commercial millwork and architectural woodwork projects. This role analyzes drawings and specifications, performs detailed takeoffs, solicits vendor pricing, and collaborates with project managers, designers, and production teams to ensure competitive, profitable bids.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents for commercial millwork projects
• Perform detailed material, labor, and hardware takeoffs
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, bid proposals, and pricing summaries
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
• Assess project scope, risks, and constructability issues during the estimating phase
• Collaborate with project managers, shop drawing teams, and production staff to ensure pricing accuracy
• Maintain historical cost data and update estimating databases
• Participate in value engineering and cost-saving recommendations
• Track bid statuses and assist with bid follow-ups and clarifications
• Support handoff from estimating to project management upon award

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in architectural millwork estimating
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings
• Knowledge of millwork materials, finishes, hardware, and fabrication methods
• Proficiency in estimating software and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, Bluebeam, or industry-specific tools)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously

Work Environment

• Office-based with collaboration across estimating, project management, and production teams
• Fast-paced, deadline-driven commercial construction environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
