Responsibilities
Works to stabilize an individual to ascertain the level of treatment that will be required, along with reducing the harm to the individual and the Clinical Counselors. Help individuals navigate the legal and medical systems, provide emotional support, and ensure victims know their rights in order for them to make an informed decision regarding the client's care
Qualifications
A. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field. Certified Victim Service Provider (VSP) for South Carolina.
B. Experience: Three to four years of demonstrated experience working with clients/patients in crisis, victims, and other members of a high risk substance exposed population.
C. Special Knowledge and Skills: Crisis Prevention Training, Mental Health First Aid Training, and Substance Abuse Specialist training preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain certificates and licensures. Experience with electronic health records and additional case management programs. Experience working with trauma exposed clients of substance use, domestic violence and sexual assault. Knowledgeable about Department of Social Services, Department of Corrections, Emergency Services, and MAT Programs. Operate a computer with Microsoft Office, other software, agency databases and eLearning systems.
