Westtown School seeks several interested and enthusiastic candidates to join our Dining Services Team as summer kitchen staff. Summer kitchen staff members will assist our kitchen team in providing a wide range of food and dining room services to support our on-campus summer camp programs. Our summer kitchen staff will assist with set-up, cleaning, and food service in the dining room, as well as general cleaning, dishwashing, and light food preparation in the kitchen. The part-time schedule from mid-June to early August will be approximately 20 hours per week, including some evening and weekend hours.

Westtown School is an independent, Quaker pre-K to 12, college preparatory day and boarding school located in suburban West Chester, PA, approximately 30 miles from Philadelphia.  On a beautiful 600-acre campus, Westtown offers state-of-the-art facilities where our committed faculty and staff inspire and prepare our students to be stewards and leaders of a better world.  

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality of customer service at all times;

• Observe safe food handling and kitchen safety practices;

• Maintain daily knowledge of menu items;

• Maintain professional and appropriate relations with all students, colleagues, and community members at all times;

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area while practicing proper sanitation procedures;

• Attend work on time and as scheduled and adhere to the attendance policy;

• Participate in departmental meetings and required training;

• Promote teamwork, collaboration, and positive morale.

Qualifications

• Must be 15 years of age by June 15, 2026

• Must have reliable transportation

• Prior food service, camp, or other service-related experience is preferred 

• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and take direction

• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse groups

• Ability to walk, stand, and lift up to 25 pounds
