Summary
Performs administrative support to Small Business Bankers. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Essential Functions
- Interact with customers to demonstrate care and build relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow up
- Assist Small Business Bankers with wire transfers, payments, advances and client inquiries
- Assist Small Business Bankers with collection of application items, requesting financials and/or other documents, client follow up
- Work closely with Small Business Bankers to monitor loan application status and provide updates to clients, as needed
- Assist in preparation of loan presentation to Loan Committee by creating product packages on nCino
- Assist with portfolio management functions, including monitoring exception reports, covenant compliance, financial reporting requirements, loan renewals, and past-due relationship maintenance
- Communicate with Small Business Bankers regarding overdrafts, matured/maturing loans, contacts customer and/or insurance companies to clear exceptions on loans and other pending items, etc.
- Assist Small Business Bankers with loan closings
- Ensure correspondence received is handled and routed as needed
- Ensure compliance with banking policies, lending practices and regulatory requirements to include wires and transfers
- Handle in-person and telephone inquiries; responds to request and inquiries, researches discrepancies and resolves issues
- Notarize documents when necessary
- Prepare loan documents on Laser Pro
- Review attorney prepared documents
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
- Carry out responsibilities with professionalism and respect for others in accordance with the Bank’s policy as well as to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Banking Regulations
- Prepare and review loan documentation
- Participate in training, as needed
- Stay updated industry trends and regulatory changes as they pertain to Small Business (SBA) loans
Required Education, Experience, Skills
- Seven or more years’ experience as a Lending Assistant in a commercial bank, or similar experience, preferred
- General knowledge of SBA lending programs, requirements, and processing, including SBA 7(a), 504, and Express loans, with experience supporting SBA loan documentation, closing, servicing, and compliance activities
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of bank personnel, customers, attorneys, and title companies; ability to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to obtain Notary Public license for the state of Texas
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and results-oriented individual who demonstrates initiative, takes ownership of assigned responsibilities, and exhibits a strong eagerness to learn and grow within a growing department
- Proficient with use of LaserPro/NCINO lending software
- Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Adobe
- Strong knowledge of consumer and commercial loan documentation to include handling complex transactions and real estate transactions
- Regulatory knowledge should include current understanding of Regulation B, HMDA, OFAC, CIP, Beneficial Ownership and Flood Regulation
- Experience working with others in a team to meet customer needs
- Knowledge of state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank lending policies
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carryout instructions
- Work with minimal supervision while performing duties
- Familiar with loan documentation system administration support
